Science confirms the Bible?

Wow. I think your views are radical pacifism. It'd be intriguing on what you think of a country having a military force in the first place, it sounds like you think any death for any cause is pointless. If you don't think people should die for their ideals, then what do you think people should fight to the death die for, nothing?

If Gods intention is for his existence to be unknowable, independently of belief, as is established in the bible, you won't be able to distinguish his actions with science.
B-mine.

That's where you tanked yourself and failed to present an untestable claim. Welcome to the realm of the material. Last I checked, when you throw that piece of pulp at a wall it makes a definitive thud.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. Correct, just look at what your supposedly holy church did to Galileo.

The pat answer...

And I suppose you take responsibility for all your atheist buddies' misadventures...through the ages? Even former Christians turned atheist?

Ideally, they wouldn't fight to the death for anything. If a person is being forced to choose between his life and something he believes in, I figure that the person forcing the choice is acting unreasonably.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

You can't help but strawman - because you want to paint a death for an ignorant belief as some kind of positive eh Ideo.

Die for your ideals all day long, whether or not it's a good idea, bravery, or just sheer stupidity depends upon the content of the ideal and your options in maintaining it.

Alright, apologies, I think I'm conflating the two. So, in your opinion, a gun to the head scenario people should always choose life. But in a fighting to the death situation, such as defending your beliefs/family/property/country etc. surely you can't think that's not worthwhile?

Like what? What would be worth it in your opinion? I'm just asking for people's opinions, I don't know why you're getting so worked up tbh, just relax.

It's pragmatism, mostly; I can do more good alive than dead, and so I'll take the option if it's presented to me. I'm an organism, it's in my genes, but it's also just the sensible option. I am a pacifist in that I'd prefer to avoid conflict, but I'm not nearly idealistic enough to preclude the possibility everywhere. But even in inevitable conflict, any death is a waste, whether it's for a belief or not.

I just don't think there's anything noble about dying. If you can, stay alive. If someone offers you the choice to live, take it; dead people can't affect change. And there's a difference between being murdered for your beliefs and dying for them; the latter puts you specifically in harm's way, which I believe should be avoided over things like ideals, for the reasons detailed above.

If his intention is for his existence to be unknowable, then how do you know about him?
How does anyone know about him?
Why do different groups of people know about him in different ways, and each claims that their way is one true way?

As for dying for atheism... meh, not interested. If someone is stupid enough to point a gun at me and, unless I "say" that I believe in some deity, he's going to kill me, then I sure as heck am going to "say" that... I have no problem lying to save my ass... .and that other person would probably be stupid enough to believe me... -.-'

Would that influence my lack of belief for that particular deity that I was "forced" to "say" I believed in? not one tiniest bit.

You can't make me believe your bullshit, but I can say that I do believe it...
How would you tell the difference between me "saying" I believe and me actually believing?

Seriously? it isn't possible to test that the bible contains nothing about god being independently verifiable? All you have to do is find one example of the opposite and you're a winner! Sounds like a huge cop out on your part. Such great rewards too! I'm shocked at your humility. Kudos.
