She didn't break her word because, not being a Catholic, she didn't know that IVF is against Catholic doctrine. Nor did she have any indication that getting pregnant via IVF would be considered a moral failing by her employers.

Fucking Catholics. Can't artificially end a pregnancy, can't artificially start one.

But regardless, again as has been pointed out, it is illegal under state & federal laws to terminate a woman's employment because she is pregnant. That's why the church lost.

Seriously????

In breaking news, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has reversed a lower court decision and is now requiring the hitman to execute the target of the mob contract he entered into.

Okay, makes sense.

I know why the church lost. I don't have a problem with the church losing.

Because a contract in which you agree to kill people is the same as a contract in which you agree not to get pregnant. Also, you're still bringing law into this; why? I'll entertain your hypothetical: He agreed to kill people so he should do it. What the law thinks of it is irrelevant, although, I'm definitely not saying the law should give right to carry out the contract. Just saying it's irrelevant.

BTW, there was never anything in her contract stating that she could not get pregnant while working as an employee. And again, even if there were it'd have been illegal. Which is Cato's point. You can't enforce an illegal contract.

Maybe you should read the initial news article.

Why? What the contract is about is irrelevant, too. The guy was taking issue with a woman breaking her word, although, apparently she didn't know she was breaking her word, according to you. So we've got to the bottom of things and I'm with you.
