Meatball,

I would be a little suspicious if Adolf Hitler, say, offered me a place to sleep for the night in some camp...

EvF,

I think we have a winner, that was crashingly horrible! I loved it!

It's important to remember that when a Christian does charity and adds a sermon or a bible to the mix, they truly believe they're doing charity on all accounts. They themselves have no ulterior motive and think everything that they do charity-wise is truly generous and from their heart.

The clowns are getting to be a little bit much, i agree...

But if they want to have clown avatars... I've nothing wrong with that Smile

However, the Christians need to not add the religion to their charities. That will make it seem less like they are being charitable merely to preach to you. Smile

Fr0d0 you crack me up sometimes and every once in awhile you give me a good chuckle. The only thing that should serve as a motivation to help a fellow human being is your own personal sense of humanity.Religious folks mostly do good deeds in order to further cement their place in heaven remember what Jesus allegedly said in the bible.
Matthew 25:34-40

34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

35For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

36Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.

37Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?

38When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?

39Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?

40And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

If that is not hypocritical and motivated by ulterior motives then I don't know what is.I rest my case.

The religious cannot perfectly follow their texts: or they would be even more hypocritical than they already are Smile

There's logic for you Tongue

You're a fool if you interpret that text in that way. Heaven right here, right now is achieved by doing what is right. If you could clear the hate from your eyes you would see that, and see that it ties in with what you think is good.

Christians prostelytising to them is a separate act of 'charity' to them. Personally I think any presentation of a world view that isn't accessible is a waste of breath.

The Problem of Evil. I've been addressing that one for years, from armchair philosophers to renowned scholars, and not once have I seen a formulation of it that actually works. It's compelling force is pure sophistry, a brute assertion decked out like an argument that does not stand up under scrutiny. It is nothing short of ironic that one of atheism's weakest arguments is considered by so many as its strongest argument.
