Keeping God in schools
#31
RE: Keeping God in schools
I was at a County fair a couple of years ago and I saw a teenage boy wearing a T shirt that said something like

"Dear God, why do you allow so much violence in my school?

Signed - Concerned Student

Dear Concerned Student -

I was kicked out of your school.

Signed - God"

Of course, I gagged. First of all, "God" was not kicked out of schools. Students are free to carry Babbles, pray and speak about their beliefs. The only thing that is prohibited is that the school can't promote a particular religion. Secondly, if the stupid slogan on this T shirt is accurate, there were no violent incidents in schools prior to "God" being "kicked out". And we all know that is false.
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.

God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems?

Yes, but when you say it like that, Christians sound much less persecuted, and if there is one thing that unites all Christians, it is the desire to cry, "persecution!"

Very true. I've encountered Christians who try to justify imposing their beliefs in public schools because it's "the majority". Then I say, "So you'd be okay with it if Muslims became the majority and they had Muslim prayers broadcast over the school loudspeakers five times a day." I've never received a good response to this question.
