I don't get your thinking and Min is right you should care. Cops know they will get away with it and they just keep getting more violent.

Why is that a problem? I personally wouldn't have run him over. My view on this wouldn't inform my actions. But I think that one less maniac with a disregard for everyone elses saftey, is a good thing. You seem to see the world in black and white, but it really is just different shades of grey. The law is the law and we should follow it, the justice system is key to our civilisation but sometimes, shit happens that is beneficial to everyone, despite it being illegal.
Contrary to your belief about me, I know that the police shouldn't be able to get away with everything they do. But they aren't robots, they are us, they have their own views. Sometimes this causes them to go too far, and in this instance, he did, but I don't think it was wholly a bad thing.

Let's see, some douche committed a stream of crimes followed by being mowed down by a cop exercising authority he did not have. I'd say that fits the definition of "all bad" - but I accept that this might be a difference of opinion between us. "They're us" isn't even remotely ameliorative. I'm us too....so are you....and we don't get to mow people down, or claim that we did society some good by mowing someone down. Again, this may be a simple difference of opinion.
