RE: IMDb's Top 10 Films: Do you agree?
These ten minutes from the awsome film "True Romance" deserve to be number one!

Here is my list:

01. Shawshank Redemption
02. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
03. Blade Runner
04. Seven Samurai
05. Pulp Fiction
06. Raiders of the Lost Ark
07. Big Lebowski
08. The Silence of the Lambs
09. Matrix
10. Sunshine

I only agree with few on IMDb list, being Sci-Fi fan since like forever, I'm extremely biased (" Fifth Element" has a special status here, it's a movie I watch at least twice a year, lol) Big Grin

Braveheart? Wtf? Mel Gibson's acting is almost unbearable in that. Such a cringe worthy film. Tongue Your other ones are decent choices... well, maybe not Inception. Not great... really not as clever as people made out. Still entertaining though.

Well... some are worth it just for the soundtrack... That's one case where that happens...
Others, no matter how good the soundtrack is, are hopeless... like Alexander, by Vangelis... a movie about Alexander the Great, with an appropriately epic and awesome soundtrack... over a year after I listen to the OST, I see the movie... what a disappointment!

Speaking of soundtracks, There's one that popped into my listening viewrange: Moon, from 2009.
Once more, after knowing the OST, I watched the movie... this one did not disappoint! Wink

What about trainspotting? The Doors? Christiane F. ? Awesome soundtracks. Now that I think about it, the crow also has an excellent soundtrack.

On another note, I've never understood why people think that the Godfather II is of such high caliber. Other than the flashback scenes, which actually were part of the book that couldn't make it in the first movie, I don't think it's worthy of all the praise it receives.

1. The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
2. The Godfather (1972)
3. The Godfather: Part II (1974)
4. Pulp Fiction (1994)
5. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)
6. The Dark Knight (2008)
7. 12 Angry Men (1957)
8. Schindler's List (1993)
9. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
10. Fight Club (1999)

I
I agree with Shawshank Redemption being #1. However, I think Pulp Fiction should be second, followed by Godfather Part II in third and Godfather in fourth (I always believed the second was superior). I also don't think The Dark Knight should be above any of the films under it, especially 12 Angry Men and Fight Club.

Godfather I is the only one on that list that should even be considered qualified to be a candidate for such a list.

The rest are just drivel. Mind you drivel can be fun, or even memorable, but not a quality to immortalize.

What about Casablanca? Or Young Frankenstein? Or 12 Angry Men? The last definitely is an exquisite film - I've never seen another where everything takes place in one room and yet you're held riveted by the sheer character will.

I have issues when ranking movies, so I'll just take the numbers away. Plus, It's so hard to narrow down 10 movies, especially since I value comedies just as much, but they rarely get enough credit! I put them in my top 10. I am not inclined to place sequals on here by themselves though. I think they should be remembered as the finished whole, and I will cheat, and group them together. That being said, this is my 10!

The Shawshank Redemption
Austin Powers Trilogy
Step Brothers
Pulp Fiction
True Grit (The new one, I don't care about John Wayne!)
Armageddon
Braveheart
Saving Private Ryan
Tombstone
A Few Good Men

Each movie is worthy of a place on my list for different reasons! Love em! If I ever want to watch a movie, there would never be a time where I couldn't be completely satisfied by choosing one of these!

p.s.
Fight Club and The Lord of The Rings movies are cool, but I prefer the books. They aren't on my list for the same reasons Harry Potter isn't. I would rather read them! There's a reason why I have both books AND movies on my tablet Big Grin

This description reminds me of The man from Earth... also takes place in one living room.
