If Texas is so awesome, why does it keep electing nutsacks?
Mind you, my whole family is from Texas, and I realize there are a lot of great things about the state. From an outsider's point of view, however, it seems to be ground zero for batshit, religious conservatism.

No doubt. None of which effect the things I like about the state. Mexican food, sports teams, lakes and the southern beach. Lots of things to do in Dallas, where i'm from. A lot of good people. I'm not saying it's the most most magical place on earth, but, I enjoy it. I don't bother with politics too much.

Hmm...Never seen the state of Texas do any of that stuff. Sounds like you are referring to things you've heard of PEOPLE doing while IN Texas. Sounds like you may be picking a fight with the wrong noun here, but hey, whatever.

the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders being smoking-hot
the mexican food being amazing
a huge bar that has top-less bull-riding and over 30 places to buy drinks inside it
South Padre Island from having some awesome spring break fests
The Atheist Experience being televised in Austin, where it was founded, and continues....
That's just off the top of my head!
