Worst Theistic Argument

RE: Worst Theistic Argument
They treat God as an exception without an explanation.

There's a bad one - treating God as "a different matter" or a special case - special pleading as if the fact he's so mysterious that means you don't need to back him up with evidence....

Like "God's mysterious ways" - a complete digression. Ugh.

It is my opinion that if there is a god it is more likely not to differentiate between our actions due to how insignificant they are from an immanent point of view. After all, when you view an anthill or a swarm of bees can you tell which ones are acting morally? Granted we can't read their minds, answer their prayers, or manifest as one of them. That would be cool though.

Interesting opinion. If I may ask however, if you are a God who cannot distinguish petty moral actions as they are insignificant, as you put it, then there would be no point of heaven and hell would there?

Well, you see, I sort 'um out by color I root for the black ants because most black ant species are known for their peaceful ways (I know about driver and army ants. All rules have exceptions and anyway I am the ant god so...) so they get to go to ant heaven while the smelly red ants can burn in the eternal heat of magnifying glass hell! Except fire ants, I like fire ants!

That is an interesting phrase which has been debated on and battled over for quite a while from what I know. Smile

You sure better hope there's not an exception to that rule then Sae, because that would be really confusing.

By definition, if there is an exception: it does not follow the rule... and therefore the rule is in some way not conclusive. I only see this being debated if others have a different definition for rule or exception Smile

Well, it isn't really a rule that black ants are peaceful. I was using rhetoric to make my post more interesting. Garn!

RE: Worst Theistic Argument
Does it not, depend on how strict the rule is, Sae?

Doesn't it depend on whether it's a 100%, fixed rule or more of a guideline, or, at least something analogous to it?

In other words, isn't there more than one definition, for the word "rule"?
