Why do animals go extinct?

Why do animals go extinct?
Just a thought that popped into my head and I would like a theists explanation of this.
God is all powerful right? and all knowing? So why would he create imperfect animals that go extinct? Could he not have seen into the future and seen which animals had flaws that would be fatal? Could he not have just not made the imperfect animals in the first place.

Another quick question. I have heard some theist opinions on global warming and world threatening crises like these. They claim that god wouldn't allow the earth to be destroyed. But if thats true, why does he allow animal species to die? This reduces the biodiversity of the food chain and could ultimately contribute to the destruction of life on this planet (that is if an asteroid or radiation from a gamma ray burster doesn't get us first)

Not trying to score points here, just interested in theists thoughts.

"God" didn;t make those animals, or doesn't feel like intervening, or it's all part of his plan. Take your pick (probably plenty more, we'll see).
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I think if most theists could comprehend this logic they would no longer be theists. Or should I replace "comprehend" with, pay attention to?

Ah, but keep in mind, that the explanations for all life on earth amount to "magic" from certain brands of theism..so any question of how life could support itself if some part of that chain were irreversibly broken will inevitably amount to "by magic". Once you've defaulted to magic, -everything follows.........even contradictory things follow..remember, magic-

It's not our hunting habit that's putting them under, it's our addiction to agriculture and shingled roofs..lol. Turns out, there's a hell of alot of us, and things have been dying to make way since way back when.

Let's let some jesus freak moron speak for himself. (This topic has been dealt with!)

http://preachersfiles.com/why-did-god-ma...o-extinct/

Quote:One of those theories is that the global flood produced a climate change on the earth in which the dinosaurs could no longer survive. However, the book of Job was written after the flood and some dinosaurs still existed at that time. So, it could not have been something that happened in a short period of time.

Another theory is that dinosaurs are just reptiles that lived several hundred years just as man lived hundreds of years. This theory states that unlike people, reptiles never stop growing. That is, they continue to grow as long as they are alive. Living several hundred years would produce very large reptiles. However, when man’s life span was shortened, the life span of animals was shortened as well and so reptiles just do not grow as big as they used to grow.

A third theory is that they existed after the flood and that men just hunted them to extinction. We know of species of animals that have been hunted to extinction in recent centuries. One such example is the Dodo bird. There have been other species that have been hunted to near extinction such as the Humpback whale. It is very possible that men hunted these animals for various by-products and in such a way they became extinct.

I'd say that you can't make this shit up but, of course, someone did.

Well, the RC Church taught us that animals did not have souls like humans, so it didn't matter what happened to them. If they died off, so what? As a kid I did not like the sound of that, but that was what the nuns taught us. So that lack of a soul let the creator off the hook.
