They were in the countryside of Mexico back in the 1960's time. No benefits to be had.

I had a good friend back when I was a teenager that told me a weird story about gypsies.
His family moved to the US from Mexico when he was 5 years old. Back when his parents lived down in Mexico one time a group of gypsies came by.
They asked his dad for money and he told them he didn't have any. They responded that he was lying and told him where in his house he was hiding some money and exactly how much was there. They then laid a curse on his wife in retaliation.
After that day she lost the use of her legs. She would have to drag herself around on the floor by her arms. Also every time her husband would go near her she would get extremely painful headaches.

Freaking weird, eh? You see? The story goes, the Gypsies are cursed by God, as to wander the earth until the end of days, never being able to unite, or form their own nation, but to be subservient to others, being disliked almost everywhere.
And in return, he has given them the power to lay upon anyone a curse, and God would see to it that it was done. So it is not wise to piss off Gypsies, nor to present them with anything that they would wish to lay their eye upon. If a Gypsy looks at anything with a wanting eye and then utters a words about it, it immidiately breaks, dies or something bad happens to it, it is their evil eye, something they themselves are so afraid of, because they know the power that it holds.
Best to ward off the evil eye around them in any way you know them.

I am not very original at cursing "in vain", so I resorted to quoting The Exorcist.

I contend that it's not as I don't believe in god, it's just another word to use that has the added benefit of pissing off the religious. He contends it is as I acknowledge a good portion of the public would consider it a curse. We're still undecided on whether using the word "god" is a curse or not, however, he does concede it is better than simply saying "fuck" all the time. Although in conjunction, it's a fine curse, example, "god-fucking, damnit!"

Which got me thinking. If God was real, and if he would fuck us, what would that be like? hmmm... something to think about.

Mehmet, when I visited Turkey I saw a lot of these being sold:
I even bought one that I gave to my brother's family as a gift. I was told it was the "Eye of Medusa" and was supposed to ward off the Evil Eye.
Is this true? I'm sure sure how accurate that information was.

Why would God give them the power to curse others if he cursed them himself? That's kind of like how he cursed Satan but lets him wander around earth causing all sorts of trouble.
God really doesn't know how to deal with enemies, does he?
