You know thinking some more about this the story of the prodigal son takes on a much deeper meaning as well!
We were a lessor son/younger son and told out Father he was dead to us. We demanded our inheartance (the earth) and we did what we wanted (Whatever it is you are doing with your life.) As some point for some of us we ran out of money and got tied of sleeping with pigs and wanted to go Home. Because we knew that our Father's slaves are treated better than this world treats us, so we in our hearts return as slaves, and Before we even get there (after this life is over) God Runs out to great us places a ring on our finger (Restores us to prominence/position in the Family) and celibrates our return! That is how Christ taught, with stories.
That is how we got the story/parable of the prodigal son. (July 25, 2013 at 11:35 pm)Drich Wrote: That is how Christ taught, with stories. Of the fictional variety, of course.

Someone of us really want that forgiveness while others want to create a hell on earth! To live in a world without God.What about those poor trillions of people who lived and died before God chose to finally let the curtain drop on a pile of sand on Sinai peninsula? They never had a chance to see the truth and they are therefore burning in hell, aren't they? Unbaptized, unchristianed, ignorant of the Lord? What about all those billions and billions who simply grew up in a different tradition, like Hinduism or Buddhism? Are you really suggesting they're being punished for no fault of their own and that even though God supposedly created them he did so in a way in which they stood no chance of salvation. It's all such a load of egocentrical, narrow-minded bull-crap it's beyond belief (pun intended).

Christ did not say no one comes to the Father, but by Christianity. Christ is the finial judge and he will decide who is 'Christian' and who is not. The titles we give ourselves are meaningless.
