At least Drich had the sense to concede this point (without first looking like he was conceding it). All the Bible does is condemn gay sex, but not homosexuality itself.

The imperious, arrogant attitude Christians have towards the law both astounds and disgusts me. They think they are free to deny others basic rights and can ignore any law they feel violates their beliefs.
Newsflash: Freedom of religion does not mean "I can do whatever I want as long as it's based on my religious convictions." It's time to rein in their cavalier bastardization of the first amendment.

Actually, this makes me think of something: GC and a lot of other theists tend to have this "hate the sin, love the sinner," mentality, where the sinful part of all this is the gay sex. If gay couples that wanted to be married promised to be celibate, would the bigots who claim this still have a problem with same sex marriage?

Then they really are out to steal our girlfriends? (August 20, 2013 at 9:11 am)Maelstrom Wrote: Let us not forget that Jesus never mentioned homosexuality. What does you gay-dar read for Jesus? First, according to Jewish law, despite him being the "messiah", he should have married a woman when he came of age. He did not. I do not buy into that whole "not wanting to be tempted by the flesh" bullshit. He was most likely quite tempted by the flesh, just not of the womanly kind. There have been scholarly theology interpretations indicating that Jesus had sexual relations with other men.
