Actually, the jews.... who are supposed to have invented the concept of a fucking messiah.....disagree.

And it wasn't a title for one individual, it was used many times including as it pertains to Cyrus the Great in Isaiah. So does she have a problem with the entire Hebrew Bible which supposedly is the foundation for the Christian faith? If she is going to make unconstitutional rulings she should at least have her information correct. She's an ignorant religious nut who should not be making decisions in the secular court system.

She clearly stated that only one person has earned the title and that is Jesus. Her decision was based on her own religious opinion which is outrageously inappropriate.

No not clearly at all. Only if you choose to take this anecdote as red rather than what she said was her reasoning.

Culturally, in her immediate and active culture, her words are typical. I might find some secular statement abhorrent considering my particular culture. That's no reason to challenge it though, because my culture is a minority.

I saw this realated story on BBC news earlier. It's a stupid name, but I don't think it is right to make the parents change their kid's name for such a reason. There are so many worse names.

Another thing on the BBC article, which was about a 26 year old with the same name, was this part:
Quote:There was just one unpleasant incident, when a stranger launched a venomous rant on the subway, screaming at him that he wasn't the Messiah.

I'm pretty sure I don't need to elaborate on why that made me giggle out loud to myself.

I am so disgusted with the American Media that I have taken to reading the BBC online every night. So I saw that story about Messiah in NY (where there are a shitload of jews) and laughed my ass off.

I've actually started doing the same.

What? Do you mean "as read"? I've read several articles and watched a video of her discussing the topic.
