Did you read the things he called me? NOT true = lies.

Not true=false. A lie is a falsehood told with the intent to deceive. If Ryan believes what he's saying is true, there are valid issues you can take up with him about it, but that he's lying isn't one of them.

I chime in whenever my superpowers are needed. Since neither of us know you, we're not in a position to know that these particular statements about you are false. If Ryan's conclusions about you are incorrect, that makes them wrong, it doesn't make them lies. Your friends probably don't know the difference between being wrong and lying either.

You can certainly make a case that no matter how sincerely Ryan believed his statements were true, he shouldn't have typed them.

'I got carried away' is not a bad defense, in my book.

Do you not see that you shit on us in your first post? A good way to tell how what you're writing will come off is to read what you've written and reverse it. In this case, reflecting on what your reaction might be if an atheist OP insinuated that certain admired virtues belong to atheism and Christains misappropriate them might have given you a heads-up on how it would sound to us. It's okay to be provocative if you can take the heat, but if you prefer a cool conversation, you should do your part to keep it so. The usual people will probably still jump on you, but the people who really just want to have a conversation won't.

And if someone is consistently rude to you, there's an option that lets you put them on ignore. If you do this, I recommend you keep it to yourself. It's classier that way, and more frustrating to your detractors.

Not to repeat myself over and over... But I have seen the light! Most of your observations are correct.

That goes a long way with me. I'm blessed with a short memory. Nothing you've said in the past will affect how I treat you from now on.

Not to put too much pressure on you, but how you behave when you post is ultimately the best evidence you can have for your beliefs. We love to think we're 'more objective than thou', but the messenger is intertwined with the message, especially if part of the message is that believing the message helps you be a better person.
