moon landing hoax?

RE: moon landing hoax?
Oh there are so many similarities between conspiracy theorists and religionists. The tactics they use are very similar e.g. in creationists.

But this reminds me that we gave up a bit on the moon. It is our closest brother in the Universe, altough barren, it contains minerals very usefull to fusion reactors, our next step in energy gathering. Plus, I think a base there would give great research data, with the added benefit of acting as a staging area for future manned explorations of the solar system.

The only problem with a moon base is the total lack of atmosphere, strong solar radiation, and Newt Gingrich would be there.
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

The ISS is plagued by all of those.. and yet, it's still there!

We haven't given up on the Moon. Since Apollo XVII in 1972, there have been another eighteen missions by five separate national space agencies. None of them have been manned of course, but they have included orbiters, landers and sample-return missions. Probably the most notable of these is the latest LADEE launch, the Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer (gotta love those tortured NASA acronyms!) - yes, there really is an atmosphere, it's just extremely rarified and properly called an exosphere. Not to mention another ten lunar missions under development and planned for between now and 2018, including one to plant two telescopes on the surface (one radio, one optical) and ultimately to mine the Moon for resources - plus eighteen more proposed missions, some by private companies, taking us into the 2020s. Even the Apollo programme is still going on; those lunar reflectors are monitored constantly.

Not quite as ignored as is popularly imagined, really.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

The back side of the moon would be a great place for a humongous radio telescope, shielded from the earth's radio noise, one sixth of the gravity so you could make it six times larger. Maybe satellites in lunar orbit to relay the data back to earth (using a high bandwidth laser system like the one now being tested on LADEE?)
The meek shall inherit the Earth, the rest of us will fly to the stars.

Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups

Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in mud ..... after a while you realise that the pig likes it!

I had a girlfriend who was obsessed with the idea of 9/11 being done by the Jews, the moon landing was fake, fluoride was added to the water supply to make us all mindless sheep, and that aliens were watching us all.

Also that she could cast spells and that alternative medicines were superior to actual medicine.

In my defense she had immensely huge tits.

That relationship didn't last long.

Tits can only compensate for so much, Creed. Not. Quite. That. Much.
