Feeling really shitty. Depression bad, confidence low. I know it's irrational because I just finished a research project for charity and they were really happy with it, so I can't be as useless as my brain informs me I am. Just reading the forum for the time being, hopefully I'll feel up to posting again soon. Hope you're all OK, I love you guys and it means a lot to me to be part of this community.

Well I'm just going to give you a giant virtual hug and hope that your day gets better. Get off here and go do something requiring physical activity. It might help. It's been said that physical activity helps with feelings of sadness. Hang in there... you'll be alright I have to leave in 20 minutes, but if you want to message me and chat, we can.

Thank you Judi, I appreciate it I'll send you a message if I find myself not coping. I'd love to do physical activity, and it's a great suggestion. Sadly that's kind of the problem, having M.E. (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) leaves me with very little physical and mental energy, causing me to be very depressed and not be able to do a lot about it. The support I get on here helps me a lot, and I'm very lucky to have a loving wife who has put up with me being this ill and depressed for about 7 years now. Without her I'd have very likely topped myself a long time ago.

I'm back home now and will be for the rest of the night.

I'm guessing you've tried the obvious stuff. Unplugging it/plugging it back in, Windows mouse settings, manufacturer mouse driver settings, etc...
I had one mouse where the plastic tab underneath the mouse button that actuated the switch wore down to the point that it wouldn't work any more. Could that be the issue?

Judi: You do? And you manage to be a parent? Blimey! You are doing amazingly well I have no kids and can't even look after myself properly, my poor wife has to pick up the slack. You're also welcome to PM me should you wish to talk about CFS or anything else. Up until very recently I volunteered on a helpline for people with CFS, with extreme sadness I had to give it up as I have gone downhill and can no longer manage it.

CM, does the click feel the same? When you press the right button, it still has an audible and tactile click? Doesn't feel gummy or soft?
If you've had the mouse for a while, the actuator might be shot. Might be time for a new one. Pony up!!
But don't ask SnakeOil/Nine for mouse suggestions, you'll have to put off your bathroom remodel another month or two...
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Hey. I resemble that remark!
Seriously though, there are some very good gaming mice available in the same price range as some of the 3-button office application mice.

Being a mom is the easy part! But I still struggle daily with the CFS. I got it as a direct result from having Mono when I was 17. Have always had problems sleeping, battling insomnia and the like. I can stay up for two days, then crash for 5 hours and be up and do it again. I take several small naps during the day if I'm not busy or active. If I sit here all day, I can easily doze off. Most of the time I fight it. On the days I have to take my fiancee to work because I need the car, I literally have to force myself to go to sleep the night before. I get headaches. A lot. I have to carry shots of Sumatriptan in the event of a migraine. I also have to carry shots in case of an allergic reaction to bee stings or because I accidentally ingested a nut product. Top all that off with IBS. It's glorious I tell ya! Fun life I have!
