What's everyone up to right now?

A new study...Yes, I know, studies are bullshit.

I think it was Duke?

Anyway, the study said that the low fat diet is a myth, or well, low carb is better. I will try to find a link. Lol

Cutting carbs always works for me. I just love them so. If I'm ketosis eating though Heart within a week, I am not feeling like I'm starving, have more energy and drop some lbs. Smile

Low or controlled carb is the way to go. Bone up on that glycemic index!

Tips: Indulge in carbs at breakfast, when you're blood sugar is low from fasting. The rest of the day protein, non-starchy vegetables, low or medium glycemic fruit and peanut M&M's (medium glycemic). Eat NOTHING 3-4 hours before going bed. This always works for me when I want to drop a few pounds quickly (1-2 lbs. a day).

No calorie or fat gram counting required.

I need to do more research on your plan. Can you still get into ketosis? I mean, I'm at ten carbs a day right now. Next week I'm going to start running so I'll go up to 20 carbs a day. Still I don't think I can fit m&ms into that plan O_O

Share you m&ms. Come on, honestly I just want to smell them. xD

10 carbs is too low. You need carbs, you've just gotta keep those hoes in line, baby!

Seriously, low carb works well, but it makes me feel like shit all day (lethargy, headaches, irritability, sadness). Controlled carb can still get you into ketosis, but with less of the side effects. The fiber/roughage and protein takes forever to digest and enters you blood stream slow and steady. I always measured its effectiveness with a glucometer. I aimed to keep my blood sugar below 100 (usually 92-96) at any given point during the day. The glycemic index of peanut M&Ms is only 55; same as an apple.

I will also buy a box of plain bran (100% fiber) to reduce my net carbs, thus slowing the release of carbs/sugar into the bloodstream. The word is that you can subtract a gram of carbs for every gram of insoluble fiber that's consumed.

Here. Have some and enjoy!

See the way I've always done it is 20 carbs (10 is just for the first week or so to jump start ketosis) and lots of lean fats and fatty oils. I don't think I'm going to be able to run for 5 hours but I'm still going to try. I'm hoping to work my way back to doing 50k runs but I have no idea if that's going to happen. I'm not as young as I used to be.

Oh and thanks for zeh m&ms <3

DO check the labels on everything you buy.... I was shocked to find out that ketchup is 25% sugar.

And here I was wondering why my mood worsened after having my morning coffee with 2 pieces of sugar. Otherwise my body seems to instinctively know what's best for it. I absolutely had a sweet tooth all my life. But these last few years, the craving is no longer present.
