I'm listening to Sun Ra, I plan on listening to Herby Hancock, Dave Brubeck, Andrew Hill. I've always sort of considered Jazz and Classical to be true thinking music, which is something I have been searching for.

Now I am getting an electric drum kit, I plan on making my own music. I have a Bass too. I've been taking guitar lessons since I was 19 I think, but I have been really sticking with it weekly for the past year or so. I fucking suck at practicing, but that's not what my goal is, my goal isn't to simply improve my skill.(December 15, 2015 at 10:05 am)DespondentFishdeathMasochismo Wrote: Okay dude, I'll get right on it. I am excited to see what I can make, because my knowledge of music, on a purely experiential level is vast. People who say "music is my life" really disgust me, because for me it actually is an all consuming passion. I have spent more time researching albums, listening to albums and developing an appreciation, watching documentaries and discussing anything that I could imagine on music forums, constantly pushing the concept of music further and further in my head. I am an extremely artistic and imaginative person. I remember in 9th grade, we had a project that asked you to come up with as many uses for a brick as possible, I think I came up with like 200 uses by the time I went home that day. I've always acceled at art too. I believe that is one of my biggest strengths as a human being, so regardless of if I can overcome the obstacle of crafting the music in real life, I believe I have some potential. Jazz is fucking scary though, I am not an extremely talented musician technically speaking. I want to see what I can do, if anything at all. I doubt my abilities, I sometimes find it hard to imagine how I would even make a complete song. Last day of work for the year so I gotta get shit done.
Sadly, this might be the only foray onto the forums I have today - at least until this afternoon and I can gauge my progress and how much I can slack off.

I was just wondering, how much of your thoughts and feelings are a mash of what your parent's minds are? Like, to what extent is the holistic experience correlating with my parents? I feel like it's something we take for granted, we're here and we come from two other people. I wonder if the thoughts I'm feeling are some strange mixture of what my mom may think and what my dad may think. Like, my personality, what makes me me.

"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

They wouldn't know what the fuck a fork is! - Then what do they do? - They use their teeth!
