Nawwwww. Tanner's no snitch!
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Converting the original Star Wars, the despecialized edition, from an 18GB behemoth to a more wieldy size of under 2GB, with a single audio track...
Then, I have to tweak the provided Brazilian Portuguese subtitle track to proper Portuguese-Portuguese, so the kids can watch it.
And then, we get a Christmas eve late night movie: the original 1977 Star Wars - no bloody I, II, III, VI, V, VI, nor VII - in glorious 720p HD (you can't get Star Wars any better than 720p - something to do with the film they used back then).
No rocks in front of R2-D2, no beasts running wild in front of the camera, no tall mud brick buildings, Han shot [period], no red tint all over... just the movie as it was originally shown on cinema. The movie that started it all.

The added CGI has aged so badly in the special edition films. Max Rebo's band is particularly egregious. I am shocked how all that somehow looked ok to me when I saw it in theaters in the 90s when it came out. I guess we grew more sensitive to bad CGI in the meantime.

I still don't understand the angst over the special editions of these movies. It's not like they changed the storyline. Besides, they are (or were) Lucas' property. He can do with them as he will and no amount of copyright violation by disseminating "fan edits" will change that.
Is he an asshole for not listening to his fans? Probably. Is it his right to be? Certainly!

You know, I don't think I've seen all three originals. I know I only saw Episode I before never seeing any more prequels. Meh.

I need to have a packing party. Most of the room is done. All I have to do is wash up the dishes and put them in the bin and get clothes in suitcases and I'm pretty much done. School tonight. I have a test I should be studying for. I just have so much that needs to be done right now that I can't focus on studying.

Of course they changed the plotline. Whether Han shot first completely changes the interpretation of the entire remaining story ;P
