Sorry, but I'm thoroughly disgusted by Republicans and conservatives so even in the absence of more specific information, I will cast my vote in favor of the party that best represents my overall interests generally. This is war and I'm not offering terms.
There is a war there on ward, city, county and district issues? I'll send you a flack jacket.

"Every luxury has a deep price. Every indulgence, a cosmic cost. Each fiber of pleasure you experience causes equivalent pain somewhere else. This is the first law of emodynamics [sic]. Joy can be neither created nor destroyed. The balance of happiness is constant.

Good as well. Out of school, working in the precision agronomy industry. Makin' them monies. Living life.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I live one district over from that which gave the nation Michele Bachmann, so it matters.

On the national scene I'm going to be a party pooper.

Up early for no particular reason. Reading from various books and waiting for Face The Nation with Margaret Brennan. Rudy Giuliani is a guest today. That should be entertaining. I haven't watched Brennan before, but I hope she grills him good. Read a chapter in a copy of the Tao Te Ching that includes commentary with each chapter. I was hoping for something like the commentaries which often accompany Sun Tzu's Art Of War, being commentary from sages and scholars throughout history. No such luck. It's the translator's personal spin on each chapter. I'm underwhelmed. On the plus side, with my subscription to KindleUnlimited I have downloaded a copy of the Bhagavad Gita with commentary which looks interesting and is well reviewed.
ps. I'm coming to the conclusion that Rupert Sheldrake's arguments about scientific dogma are little more than a stalking horse for selling his ideas about morphic resonance. He points up problems in science that appear to defy conventional explanation, but the alternatives he discusses always seem to narrow down to one: morphic resonance. I feel swindled.

*sigh* My poor little i3 in this computer is struggling to keep up. Unfortunately, it's not really a good time to pop for an upgrade.
(Taking a brief gander.... An i5 would clock in at about $100-150. I could probably swing that, but perhaps I should hold off until my finances settle out.)

I can't say it would work... but just this morning this came up on my suggestions list:

Meh. A CPU swap is considerably simpler than moving to a completely new platform, and the price difference once that's taken into account, isn't that drastic. Plus, an i5 is 8 threads versus 4, which matters here. I'm not talking single threaded performance.
