First morning back home. Slept in. The roosters are going nuts. I think they're calling me a lazy fuck.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

You ever have one of those absolutely perfect days where everything goes according to plan, problems solve themselves, and all of your expectations are exceeded?

Watching football. Just finished loading up the slow cooker with a pot roast. I tried a sirloin tip roast from Aldi's. It's cheaper than their chuck, and felt somewhat tough when I seared it, but we'll see.

Finished the pillow cover I was making and plan to give to Deb tomorrow. After her medical appt. we may meet for lunch.
Since I couldn't find a pattern I came up with one on my own...now if the pillow fits I can consider it a small victory...there may have been some swearing involved along the way.

It's 0911 Monday.
Just went down the shop. Looking through my study window ,it's a perfect spring day; clear blue sky, full sun. Didn't check the temperature; it was 13C, which is too cold for this little black duck. It's currently14C,which I guess may mean the day will become steadily warmer.
Nothing much planned for today. Had 2 days of major housework last week, so not much this week. So, it's painting, reading and TV. Currently reading a Tom Clancy I hadn't read.

The speaker in my laptop is getting wonky again. I think I heard a beep (not sure since I was half-asleep at the time), then I tried to listen to Stan Freberg’s Columbus sketch and somehow, the speaker board didn’t totally fry, it just sounds like the right channel is in another room. I confirmed that, no, Columbus isn’t supposed to be speaking to whoever he’s speaking to from another room, and I also confirmed that the issue doesn’t occur when I have my earbuds in.

Have you been feeding him?
The speaker in your laptop, that is.

Well yes actually. It's 1135 and I've done ever task I had planned for today. Next is a spot of reading. Then I might re watch Dune 2021 . Was a bit underwhelmed on first viewing. Consensus seems to be that it's terrific. I obviously missed something. On the other hand, I'm quite enjoying the series of 'Foundation' . Remember reading the books around 1971 and loving them.
The secret to a perfect day is simple; lower your expectations. I have tendency to catastrophising just about anything. Consequently , I'm thrilled when nothing nasty happens. EG plane crashes into house and I'm not home, have serious accident in car and am not killed, that kind of thing.
