If a butane torch is good enough for creme brûlée, it’s certainly good enough for steaks. Go for it.

It's 0759 Tuesday 9 Nov and a perfect spring day.

Just as I as getting ready to send off an email, the arm on my flat pack computer chair fell off. I had to screw it back. I hate flat pack furniture. I get it, so much cheaper to ship in containers. None of my old wooden furniture with dove tail joints has ever fallen apart.

Just a minute ago I paid my quarterly electricity bill; $125. The lowest I can remember. Before I had the solar panels installed, it could be as much a $700 a quarter . South Australia has some of the most expensive electricity in the developed world. The average cost of electricity for a single person dwelling in my state is $1273 a year.

I guess it depends on how you like your steak. Seared 'n' served? I like mine pink but not bloody.

When cooking for others, I love to cook. (it's how I paid my way staying with friends when I travelled) Today it's just me ,so normally I can't be arsed going to a lot of trouble.

For me, two of the hardest things to cook for others is steak and eggs.

Thinking about my next hustle, kicking myself for everytime I've wished I had more cash but wasn't doing any of the planned things. Every single broken window or busted motor that I raised my voice to my children for in question.

All I have to do is abandon the house that got us through the great recession and move into one we bought during the trump slump.
