What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Who'd have thunk it but I'm having great fun having ChatGPT give me endless exercises for conjugating verbs in German. This thing is a great tool for helping to learn languages... means I can do endless drills on any part I want Smile

Just back from checking out a nation wide cremation service provider. Not that impressed, will need to check out the local providers.

Not to be gruesome but this reminds me of how surprised I was by how heavy dad's cremains were when I picked them up.  I am not sure what I expected but it wasn't the heft that was there when I lifted the bag his remains were in.  He was just in a plastic box so it wasn't like an ornate urn or anything.  It's one of those things I had never thought about before that day.

Manager wants me to reach out to new employee and teach her how to clock in and out on her phone.  I don't even have the app.  Have never used it, don't know what it looks like.  And I have never been in direct contact with the people in the field.  This is on top of her suddenly thinking I can communicate with team members who only speak Spanish.  My Spanish is limited to what's on a menu.

Unfortunately the boss..my boss, is out hiking and tree-hugging somewhere and I have to figure out how to navigate this mess.

To add to the fun...boss is the manager's mother.

UGH!

I refused to have the work time tracker app on my personal phone.

I told them they can give me a company phone or get the app on my laptop.

Mentioning how this is legal forcing someone to load a work tracker app on private personal phone.

None of the management could tell me what is in the agreement that you have to agree to before using.

My mom was casket burried, along with grandparents. My dad's cremains came in a brass urn then interred at a military cemetery. I sure the weight of the urn was more than his ashes. But then dad had been 'dwindling' for years from prostate cancer. I'm guessing 250lb down to 150lb.

You're not gruesome, it's a part of life and death.

Getting pissed that the air quality issues in Chicago aren’t getting resolved in time for today’s Ravinia concert, let alone tomorrow’s. At least today’s concert (three Beethoven string quartets, 6, 10, and 15) is in the St. Martin’s Theater, but tomorrow’s is Santana and we have lawn tickets.

I spoke with my sister yesterday. She lives in the Chicago area and was frustrated with the air quality.  She has been a lifelong sufferer of bronchitis and though never diagnosed, seems to be asthmatic.  Her only relief from it right now is she is sort of stuck in the house recovering from rotator cuff surgery.

There’s supposed to be thunderstorms in about an hour. Dad thinks this might clear up the bad air and I hope he’s right.

Prepping some tenderloin for dinner. Letting it sit to brine a little and raise to room temperature. Making four batches of overnight oats. It's time to resupply.
