Jor. Process of elimination.

Only in a certain prog (memory leak, bad ram)
New hardware?
3rd party Driver issue?

remove one at a time until you find the culprit.
Maybe turn the computer on and leave it running all night to confirm not a general hw issue.

I have a friend who used to work on fixing computers... his bottom line was always the same: "Computers are only good for one thing - porn. Porn always works.... somehow..."

Thanks for the advice. I know how to troubleshoot. There's just not enough to go on in this case. Nothing has changed except uninstalling a microsoft update. I reinstalled that. It isn't running anything new and it's only just lately that the problem developed. It could be hardware, but there's not much I can do about that. It BSODs in the middle of the night while it's sitting idle.

Never trying to insult ...It's a work habit. (15 years lev3 IT support)
In that case, my first instinct is a glitch (mem corruption) coming out of sleep/hibernation, low power mode. (auto updating during the night?)
Have you made any changes at all in bios for sleep type? S1, S3? S5?

Just throwing it out there matey...

Preparing to make duck confit at the moment. Originally scheduled to take a small rental sailboat out for a few hours of quiet alone time later in the day, but the weather does not appear to plan to cooperate.

No, I haven't made any bios changes. This machine doesn't sleep/hibernate.
