Just picked the kids up from my dad's house. Yesterday was my husband's birthday, and we had a mostly kid-free day. Which was nice.

Basement is almost totally fixed. I lost a corner table and a few books, but the rest is now in perfect order. Also, I got some picks and cables from Strings and Beyond (including a Clayton NuTone that's supposed to sound like vintage tortoiseshell; it's less awkward to use than the John Pearse take on the same concept, although it's a bit big for my pick holder.)

Unfortuntely, I have a headache (partly from having to deal with horrible traffic and partly from gasoline fumes left over because I was running dangerously low on gas and Dad decided to fill the tank with a can of gas that he stowed away in the trunk when it was emptied and kept in too long) and need to rest.

The 1st part of the lightening process is complete. Just took off the reconstruction masque I put on it as a damage reduction effort. On Saturday I will do step 2.

Going through the contents of some external hard drives. I used to have a Christmas tree of external hard drives hooked up to my PC, but when I moved into my current PC 5 years ago, I didn't bother. I no longer collected movies and music like I did, so I just didn't need the room. Though it's looking like I'm about to change that habit and need more online storage. I've got a little device I can put in the corner of the room and network into that hooks up to external USB drives and serves their contents over the net.
