Band executive meeting this evening, getting ready for the new season.
When I got home I made spaghetti with mizithra cheese and browned butter. I over-browned the butter on the first try (my daughter has a trick whereby she puts the sauce pot in cold water to cool it down so that the butter stops cooking), and had to do a do-over.
Decided to make an experimental shortbread with the original butter, after straining it: 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup corn starch, 1/2 cup icing sugar, 2 teaspoons instant espresso powder, the browned butter, and a couple of tablespoons of water to get a dough that sticks together. Press into a 9x9 pan, bake for 25 minutes at 300F, cut into squares and let cool.

Nurse tried to tell me how to use his feeding tube. Didn’t have the heart to mention I’m a surgeon.
