What's everyone up to right now?

We have two of the "mattress in a box" units. They do take time to fully bulk up. Honestly, in terms of comfort, 13-14" of memory foam has to be luxurious. Ours are far less thick and amazingly comfortable.

14 inches? I’ve had sleeping bags wider than that.

MN Atheists is having their first in-person monthly meeting since the pandemic began. I don't really feel like it, and it means I'll miss half the football game, but I suppose it would be better for me than staying home.

Looks like my bed has topped out at 13-1/2 inches. Close enough for government work. I haven't decided whether to sleep on it tonight or not. It's like blowing on a microwave to make it cook faster. I keep thinking that if I just give it some more time it will make up that missing 1/2 inch.

On my way home from the monthly Minnesota Atheists business meeting / presentation. Today's presentation was on creating secular rituals. The main presentation finished at just the right time for me to catch a bus 30 minutes earlier than I had planned, so I'll get to see more of the football game.

Before I left, I started some country-style ribs in the slow cooker in a sweet gochujang sauce. I used a dry rub of brown sugar, kosher salt, and pepper and seared the ribs before putting them in the slow cooker. The sauce was a bit of a blend of recipes, consisting of brown sugar, soy sauce, mirin (seasoned rice vinegar), gochujang (Korean hot soy paste), honey, gochugaru (hot Korean pepper flakes), and the usual salt & pepper. I realize now that I forgot the ginger. "Oops." Hopefully it won't matter. I set it to slow cook for 9 hours on low, so it should be ready by 8:00 P.M. I've got liquid ginger concentrate, maybe I'll mix it with some mirin and dump some in when I get home. I'm looking forward to it. I just wish I'd set it for 8 hours so that I could eat sooner. I haven't eaten yet today, so my stomach is talking to me.
