God help me, I think I've lost it.  I'm thinking of buying a torch for a better sear on my steaks.

If a butane torch is good enough for creme brûlée, it’s certainly good enough for steaks. Go for it.

I can't stop reading. I have been fighting other creative pulls and trying to maintain my writing spirit(my writing partner is depending on me) but every time I sit down to add to my post, I pick up a book instead. Always, "one chapter. Just one chapter to get me in the mood." Multiply that a few dozen times during the day until the book is done and I pick up the next. Let's hope the words will come back once I read enough. I feel crazy, feverish, like I don't have control.

On the plus side, I'm finally making great progress on my Goodreads Reading Challenge for 2021.

Watching football and drinking a whiskey highball. I just got back from Bloomington, picking up a bottle of Dalmore Port Woood Reserve that I bought as a Christmas gift for my brother-in-law. They had Rudro anejo tequila marked down from $35 to $22. My sister gave me a bottle of the reposado for Christmas a few years back and I rather liked it. So I grabbed the anejo.

I'm waiting for lunch time to approach so my roommate will leave the room and I can finish my recording session. Managed to get three takes done while he was out sleeping in the dining room.

Getting ready to exercise. My homemaker is coming today and I've got a bunch of reading to do before a Zoom meeting tonight.

Don't you just love Zoom? It's done wonders for me since the pandemic. I especially like its recording feature which came in handy when I wanted to do a podcast with my cousin who lives out in Bonner Springs.

Have my men's group later this morning. I was thinking or ironing my shirt. However, it's a bit cool today so I put on a jumper. (sweater?)

Opening packages from Amazon and collating the gift receipts. The only downside to Christmas is that the only place I have for all these gifts is the couch, which means I can't lie down on it and watch football until after Christmas.
