I'm holding off on Windows 11 as long as I can, cos nothing about it sits right with me, but especially the apparently arbitrary new, and stricter, system requirements for many programs... I just don't want to risk programs that work fine in Windows 10 suddenly ceasing to work in Windows 11 for no good reason so I'm putting off that upgrade for as long as possible.
In case your Windows 11 is an upgrade (where you could roll back to Windows 10 if you wanted) I found an interesting YouTube video that tells you how to set a key in the registry to stop it periodically offering you the upgrade and so far it's working fine; I haven't seen that offer since. If you're interested I could look up that video (or you could)... it basically sets your preferred version of Windows and stops offering upgrades beyond it.
As long as "new" hardware is up to it, it works and looks the same as 10 imo. I can't think of anything that I can't run on it that I could on 10....

Cool, that's reassuring. But ultimately until I understand the technical side and reasoning behind this a bit more, if Microsoft has or will share that, it will still feel like a risk to upgrade... one which I don't really need to take for a few more years until support for Windows 10 runs out.

Making chicken noodle soup from a mix. I had three zucchini and added one to the soup, but that leaves me with a bit of a challenge using up the other two.

The Wifi drivers for my motherboard ran fine under Windows 10, but crap out under Windows 11. I'm planning to use 2.5 Gbit NICS over ethernet, so not a big issue, but still an issue.

The dryer just croaked. Looking at prices for a new one.
I think I'll go cry now.

Go to a big box store and buy a return. Our new dryer (a few years old, now) had a scratch on the back, and the buyer refused delivery. Brand new, got it for half price.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Dryers aren’t all that difficult to diagnose and repair. Could be something as simple as a fuse or the heater.
What’s it doing (or not doing), exactly?

It's turning and blowing air, just not hot air.
Husband tinkered with it and I am hoping for the best.

Yup. It’s either one of the two thermal fuses or the heating element. We called in a repair blokey for the same thing a little over a year ago. Cost of the repair was about a fifth the cost of a new one.
Good luck!!

So far, so good. But husband isn't promising long term results.
