Trying to navigate my fathers introduction to his grandchildren's lives. He's terrified, for them it will be a tuesday. What he doesnt realize is that my grandfather, before he recently died, built up such a level of implicit trust and love that he won't even have to explain his absence - to this date. OTOH, if he fucks up and fails to adequately typify my grandfathers interactions....they'll just ghost him. My grandfather was his childhood hero and substitutionary father who raised me to be a better version of him - and succeeded in that aim. No pressure.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. Next door neighbor moved out last month, leaving a derelict car. Today a squad of (heavily armed in a military fashion) state police hung out in front of our place for six hours waiting for the tow truck. We think the car may have been stolen.

Getting ready to go have my eyes examined. I have noticed that my prescription needs a little adjustment. I do not look forward to picking out frames (or having to pay for new glasses) but here we are.
