Got the call a little while ago. Mom has cancer. Surgery on the 3rd. My step-mom died from cancer a short while back.

I'm at my favorite watering hole grabbing a couple of Shiners after a ten-hour day at the small nature preserve I help to manage. It's a beautiful sort of tired, y'know?

My son's mom fought a 10-year running battle with breast cancer, and it hurts the bystanders too. Hang in there. Consoling
