Been there....done that.

God forbid you should bend your fingers in the shape of a gun, point at a student, and go, "Pew! Pew! Pew!"

You might never graduate.

That would depend on the type of gun and whether your fingers are loaded.

I'm all for a zero-tolerance gun policy at schools, but only for actual firearms and possibly air guns as well. But when teachers and school administration suspend students for taking toy guns to school, it's just patently absurd. And I don't just say that because when I was a kid we always took toy guns to school. And when I was in high school, one of my classmates gave a demonstration in speech class on how to clean a shotgun.

My how times have changed.

Um...too late, Apo.

Quote:A Nebraska public school is barring a deaf three-year-old boy from using sign language to sign his name because, it claims, the gesture resembles a gun. The school’s policies have prompted outrage from parents, rights groups and ordinary citizens.

Hunter Spanjer’s parents were informed by the Grand Island Public School that the way their child signed his name was a violation of the school’s weapons policy.

It's really bad when a kid can't even point their finger without risking being suspended. It's really, really bad when idiot school officials make a child sign his name in a different way because they're afraid it might look like he's pointing his finger like a gun.

I think it stems from a number of reasons.
1 - The world is full of stupid fucking people and we have more than our fair share here in the US.
2 - Bored house wives turned PTA leaders need a crusade to make their empty lives somehow valid.
3 - School boards are filled with sleezy politician types. They are despised by nearly everyone in this country, yet somehow we are their slaves.

and of course the reason that is the most valid and sadly the most outrageously misused is the fact that kids gun down kids in this country.
That being said, the fact that a 3 year old and a 5 year old are questioned and punished for brandishing a tiny toy and a thumb & finger seems more like an episode of South Park than reality. Which really means that stories like these should be humiliating to the communities involved.

All I can say to these school administrators and teachers is, Grow a brain, fucktards!

Florida - figures - even beats Nebraska on this stupidity.

http://now.msn.com/jordan-bennett-florid...like-a-gun

Quote:Jordan Bennett's imagination recently earned him a one-day suspension from school. The 8-year-old Florida boy was kicked out of class after administrators at Harmony Community School in Osceola County saw him pointing his finger like a gun while playing cops with his friends — a gesture that the school considered to be an act of violence.

Could Florida school officials really be so stupid as to not know an "act of violence" from pointing a finger and going "bang?"
