Problem solved.

That is a circular argument.
You used your assumption as your conclusion.

Really? Good heavens. I wonder where I got that from? Oh my God - you've infected me.

Pascal's wager is a coin flip. It fails when you play with a deck of cards, which is what we really have with the multitude of religions that exist.

In order for atheism to be true EVERY SINGLE RELIGION needs to be 100% falsified.
In order for theism to be true there only needs to be One God.

^^ That was a wasted post, as none of us will ever know, except after death I suppose. Then it won't matter, and it won't do a thing for those still alive.

But if you picked the wrong one then you are rotting in hell next to me but slightly worse off as I got to spend Sundays as I wanted to.

In the meantime you really need to understand odds a bit better.

There are 4400 different religions and churches. Each one says they are right and everyone else is wrong.

If P(God) = 50% (really generous) then you have a one in 8,800 chance of being right.

Me? 50%.

Christians face the same final judgement as everybody else - worse in fact because the person who claims they know and agree to the rules is held to account and judged by a stricter standard.

Yes, but you're not just a deist, like that smug little statement would imply, are you? You're a "biblical theist," meaning you believe in the bible god, correct? That puts you on the same footing as everyone else, and frankly I'm a little bit tired of you god wads expanding the scope of the argument away from what you actually believe when it becomes convenient to do so.

As for the OP, let me see if I can't clear this up for you: here's the actual table of odds for Pascal's Wager. It's not really the fifty fifty split you'd like to think it is.

Clear?

I thought Jesus paid that bill for you.

Damn but Christianity is a fucked up religion.

Kayenneh's Wager: It's better not to believe in any particular god or religion, until proven accurate.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura
