There may be truthful things in it but they are vastly outweighed by untruthful things. That doesn't make it any less a book of fables. Every fable has at least some inner truth at its base, even if the whole thing is a fabrication. And please quit mischaracterising anyone who doesn't happen to agree with you as not liking the truth; first you need to demonstrate that it is the truth, if you're relying on it as the core of your position.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

OP, what's more respectful: the person who thinks of others as mature adults with whom he can open up with his true thoughts on an issue, in his own specific parlance, without feeling the need to mollycoddle or obscure his thoughts for fear of somehow destroying the person he's talking to, or: the person who thinks of others as too weak willed or unable to defend their ideas that he deliberately holds back, as though they are less worthy of hearing his arguments and defending against them?
You're not being respectful, you're being condescending. If I was talking to you and I knew you were holding back because I'm far too delicate to hear what you actually think, I'd be pissed. You aren't talking about respect, you're talking about deliberate dishonesty with the aim of not hurting the feelings of people you're drastically underestimating by turning them into these dainty little shits who must be freed from criticism if it's too harshly worded.
Sometimes, people need a kick in the ass. That's what I'm here to provide, and if you don't like it, then come back when you're willing to be a fucking adult. Not liking your ideas doesn't mean I don't like you personally, it just means I think you're being a dumbshit right now. We all are, occasionally. The best part about that is that you can stop being a dumbshit, but that'll never happen if we're forced to roll out the red carpet for every bad idea that comes along.
