And I don't have to keep reminding myself god doesn't exist. Terrible arguments such as yours do that for me.

How can it be possible for one person, however theistically deluded, to get things totally and consistently bass ackwards like that?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Sorry, I haven't been following this thread too closely. Could you please re-iterate why it is that if a creator exists, it has to be the christian god?

Presumably when you say "appeal to the future", what you mean is "inductive reasoning based on past events and the rapid expansion of human knowledge and discovery"

That part is spot on, actually. I often forget that I've been an atheist for my entire life. Seriously, I've lost count of the amount times I've found myself in church singing along, enraptured by the sermon or praising jesus, only to suddenly remember that I'm not supposed to believe in god. At that point, I usually just masturbate into the font and caper off whilst cackling maniacally. I'm not kidding, this one time, half the sodding congregation joined in.

wasn't going to mention something else unless religion was brought-up and that is the the miraculous events of christianity, and the unique character, claims, and credentials of Jesus Christ. the other religions can't do it.

Snowy, what's your issue with an "appeal to the future," an acknowledgement of the idea that we don't know everything yet? Why are you so insistent that we all demand that we have all the answers to every question right now?

actually, what was intended was that c. theism has an explanation that's doesn't require more discovery. to the 'we', there are no demands.

c. theism provides the best explanation collectively of the U., human beings, and Christ related (part of which is miraculous events).
the most miraculous event was the resurrection. in fact all of christianity would be exposed as a fraud if that event didn't take place. the apostle paul in fact said if that is not true our faith is in vain.
