Damn beat me to it
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

The current “theory” is that the universe came into being from some explosion called the Big Bang. The standard Big Bang theory does not match smoothness of the cosmic background radiation. So the theory of Inflation was added to the standard Big Bang. That is the latest conjecture of modern science.

Now there are many problems with this “answer” to the origin of the universe. If nothing existed before the Big Bang, then the Big Bang violates a number of principle and laws of science. It violates conservation of mass-energy. The energy went from nothing to all the energy of the universe. It violates cause and effect. Nothing never just explodes and becomes something. It violates all observations, since nothing never just explodes into something. It also does not explain the origin of the laws of nature or why there is even order in the universe.

If something existed before the Big Bang, then the origin question is not answered at all. If the universe always existed, then the 2nd law of thermodynamics says that all order disappeared an infinite time ago. But that is not the case. Also there is still no explanation of the origin of the laws of nature or why there is even order in the universe.

Like some of my athiest poopie heads you misunderstand.

We say "we don't know, but this is what it looks like." We don't need a answer because we know we don't know enough. Yeah, it does kinda suck. But we don't have to release all of our fears by accepting a book. we keep looking Thinking

I should point out I am not one of those "the bible is false" guys. Because there may very well have been a flood. In fact I would suggest there was a flood. It may have been the biggest flood they ever saw. But there is no reason to take the book literally. Wink

Dear "SaveByGraceThruFaith",
Your comment on the Big Bang Theory is spot on. You did a great job, keep up the good work.

Actually, SavedByGraceThruFaith demonstrated in thread after thread that he/she didn't have a single fucking clue when it came to cosmology, biological theory, or anything else that required reading at least one book that wasn't the Bible. You might want to actually read this thread to find out why your admiration for this person is laughably misplaced.

Oh, and a pro-tip for you: SavedByGraceThruFaith was banned months ago because he/she came here to preach to us without any intention of engaging in meaningful discussion. This is an atheist forum. As others have pointed out, we don't like people coming here to proselytize if they are unwilling to back up their claims with at least a stab at rational discourse. Evidence for your claims would be nice, too, but most of us already know you don't really have any.

Grace's comment displayed a breathtaking ignorance of what the big bang theory even is, and by endorsing it you have shown that you too are ignorant of it, and seemingly unwilling to learn before you comment on it.

It's becoming increasingly hard to take a charitable view of you. Dodgy
