Just for the record, are you saying this isn't true, and that in fact a fraction can include a decimal?

you fool, the proper way to write that fraction is 1/2 you don't include decimal points. the decimal version of 1/2 is .5...smh
and in what world does 23.7 = 237?

Just answer this simple question.
Is 34/23.7 a fraction?
Yes. And it is a ratio.

I think anyone familiar with the English language would come to the same conclusion.
I never said you misconstrued it. I said you cherry-picked it out of the post without any of the context of the rest of it, in which Chuck goes on to clarify what he means.
By the same tactic, I can quote you as saying in your above words "I don't believe the fibonacci sequence exists."
That's what cherry-picking means.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

That is technically not called the proper way of writting it. It is technically the vulgar (look it up) way of writting it.
You nincompoop.

You never reached fractions in you "education", and have no idea how they work beyond what you can look up in answer.yahoo, have you? Even 30 seconds of reading Wikipedia give enough basis for understanding fraction operation to make you look dumb.

It seems like you only half listened in math class.
12.5/25 = 125/250 = 1.0/2.0 = 1/2 = 0.5 = .5 = 12/24 = 12000/24000 = 0.03/0.06
These are all valid ways of representing the same value.
They are all the same number, the are all the same ratio.

look you muppet, we made it clear that as it relates 34 to the length of DNA and the 23.7 the width.. THIS WAS NEVER A FRACTION IN THE FIRST PLACE. We are talking whole numbers.
So no 23.7 does not equal 237
