I agree with Brian here, when oppressed or discriminated against, speaking out is not a bad thing to do and there's definitely a way to fight for equal rights without a set of philosophy/manifesto since the only thing you want to accomplish is equality. Many groups, ethnical and religious, have fought for the same thing in history, they do not necessarily have a set of manifesto, they just want to be treated equally.
