I simply am pointing out that when one gets offended by a challenge to their own claims, they need to consider that all they are doing is protecting their own ego out of fear of being wrong.

I don't agree. There are many reasons to refrain from answering questions, many of them perfectly acceptable- like you really dislike the asker and know them to be dishonest, so why waste your time?

It's a bad habit on every type of forum to claim victory when someone won't respond. It may be that you've won, but it also may be that you're such an asshole that the askee is just done with you.

If anyone EVER catches me doing this (claiming victory because someone has stopped talking to me), please smack me a good one. I hate it.
