Don't verbal me with Strawman ventriloquism!
And take your intellectually dishonest quotation marks fraud and shove it.

Can I be clearer? When I said cooperation is key to human survival, your response was to bring up wars. If you're got a more nuanced position, state it. Otherwise, get up from out of my grill, and learn to read what I say before you get pissy again.

It's an anemic claim to begin with, but especially so when the initial cause of the conversation was evolution and this misrepresented "survival of the fittest," stuff.

Fact is, the guy hasn't been arguing for his own position since this conversation on wars started. Rolleyes

Ah, because people can never be wrong? If I am, if Lion comes through with a more detailed representation of his position, then fine, I retract my words. But this isn't a binary position: a person isn't just right or lying, Fish.

Just admit that you cannot claim a "seems to be" strawman position as fact. Can you do that?

I thought I was being pretty clear I was speaking from my own interpretation and not some objective, set in stone fact, especially by the second post where I literally clarified exactly that, but let's get that bee out of your bonnet right away:

Yes, I misspoke.

That's what all my other posts were for. What I gave back there was an overview, and given that I wasn't responding to a specific post, there was no reason to quote the posts I wasn't responding to.

Happily, they're all still there, so everyone can see for themselves what actually went on.

RE: Questions for theists
Lion, honestly, E has entertained you much more then anyone else here. He has had more patience than most of us would with you. Time and time again i see you say ridiculous things and I wonder if you are sincere when you speak or if you just have a insecure complex and like to stir up others with unreasonable conversations knowing they are honestly being sincere. In other words I wonder what you say is something that you really believe or if you are out of touch with reality or just trolling. I lean toward the last. This is more to E than anything. E you have good intentions with lion and I understand why you even poke at him at times. I personally could not do it and say to you I think you honestly care about the discussions on this forum and i think your patience with lion has gone above and beyond. I imagine talking with him is frustrating and I admire your attempts to reason with him. Always enjoy reading your points E.

Doing what is competitively necessary to ensure your (selfish) DNA gets passed on.

Just because our DNA is selfish doesn't mean we have to be. My DNA is great, but in the grand scheme of things, it isn't important that I pass it on. I can't recommend adoption to would-be parents enough.
