Yet more fine christian skewed priorities
Remember that christian soup kitchen a while back that refused atheist volunteers merely because they were atheists? I think this one will be harder for the believers to shrug off as okay.

Quote:For a couple of years now, the Kansas City Atheist Coalition has volunteered with the Kansas City Rescue Mission to deliver meals to the hungry on Thanksgiving.
This year, the atheists have been told their services won’t be needed:

Because what's important is pimping Jesus, not helping people!

And you just know they're going to crawl out of the woodwork to try and defend this, too. Posting this news here was just putting the fish in the barrel, really. Wink

"As atheists, we are a minority in this area, and the greater portion of the population still sees us as the misanthropic caricature commonly portrayed in pop culture. We’re changing that. As we work for awareness and acceptance, we’re also fighting the perception that this is a Christian nation and all that entails."

And the award for irrelevence goes to catfish.

Fucking and?

Excuse us for not wanting to be seen as fucking cartoon characters anymore. Excuse them for wanting to be equally represented in their own fucking country. These things are not ignoble goals, nor can you spin this as the only reason the group went to bat for charity.

And what I love is that, even if your blatant attempt to derail things was successful, the christian group here would still be wrong, because they preemptively barred the atheists from working there specifically so they could proselytize their religion.

Try again, Fishy.

JT Eberhard says it well:

It… highlights a difference between atheists and Christians: our primary goal is helping as many people as possible. Often, their primary goal is spreading their faith, with alleviating suffering coming in somewhere behind that.

I'm calling Bullchit! on that statement. Undecided

Their own fucking FAQ tells it like it is.

"Why is this organization needed in Kansas City?

There isn't anything about a primary goal of helping as many people as possible. Quite the opposite, seems like they just want to help the atheist "image" and proselytize against Christianity.

Your turn. Undecided
