You Can See The Crazyness and Bigotry In This

RE: You Can See The Crazyness and Bigotry In This
I disagree that it's crazy or bigoted. It's their own damned forum. If you don't like it, go elsewhere. If you come to dinner at my house, we will not be listening to you say a prayer before a meal. You can say it silently to yourself, but you will not impose it on me. Those are my house rules.

If I go to someone else's house for dinner, and they say a prayer before dinner, I will politely bow my head and listen.

I don't have a problem with house rules. If they want to be a Christians-only group, who cares?

What if you go to someone's house and they want everyone to listen to Donny Osmond records?
A mind is a terrible thing to waste -- don't pollute it with bullshit.

The bigotry I was referring to, is the bit about only allowing homosexuals to discuss changing their orientation. The 'church' touts itself as having all of the answers for life's questions - it's different than simple house rules. The church should be available to help people in all venues it chooses to expose itself to, and limiting their ability to express themselves by narrowing the focus to only what the church wants to discuss, does not display anything other than blind prejudice. If it were any other group forum beside one that claims to be the love/light of the world, I would agree with you entirely. But as it is, Christians claiming to be good, then using that 'good' status to browbeat others, only demonstrates the opposite of what they claim to be.

Do you want me to Allah for you, just in case?

They are banned for breaking rules not being atheist, just like here we are not banned because we're Christians.... so far.

If you were to be banned, GC, it wouldn't be because you're a Christian. Take Jacob for example. He seems like a nice dude, and he also happens to identify as a Christian.

No, it'd be because you're a danger to yourself and others. Stay away from sharp objects.

But just in case, and I'm going out on a limb here, if you are ever banned I give you permission to go onto as many forums as possible and claim that you were persecuted and that the baddy atheists wanted to burn you alive and eat your corpse. Maybe throw in that we we raped someone you love. Or a good murder. That always goes down a treat Smile

Yes, and you know what? I have evidence that all christians are morally corrupt scumbag bastards who would kill their entire family if their god told them to. I have evidence that christians are mindless drones. Sheep following the one in front. Yes, I have evidence, its called the real world.

Try again.

That's no evidence, bring some please.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Always amusing when the guy who believes talking snakes are real demands "evidence."

So they're hypocritical and bigoted in their attitude. They don't represent all Christians, as we know, and it's still their online forum. I agree about the failings of that brand of Christianity, but they are entitled to limit speech on their forum in any way they see fit.

And we are entitled to read it and call them bigots and hypocrites. Ain't free and open speech grand?

That WOULD be pushing the boundaries of hospitality, although I'd rather listen to Donny than Kate Bush.

Yes, but my speech never claimed to have all the answers, then limit the target audience's questions to only those I'm comfortable discussing. That's my only point. "Christians" claim to have all of the answers to the ills of mankind, but then they run from even considering real-life questions. The gospel is supposed to make 'life' available to everyone, not just those who look like them, and talk like them, but especially for those outside of 'salvation'. They may as well replace all of their rules with one statement...

"We claim the one and only truth (the gospel), and we refuse to discuss it with (share it with) those most in need according to our dogma."

At least then I'd have respect for their honesty.
