Death?

RE: Death?
Objectively speaking, as biological entities, we are built to live long enough to pass on our genes procreate.

As far as an overarching end-goal to our existence goes, I can't say I buy any of that.

Not objectively, no.

Where's the evidence for that?

Some people believe it's their purpose, some people believe it isn't. Some people believe it's actually an objective purpose.. but as I said - where is the evidence for that?

I don't think what people think is relevant. That we're driven to it is the point. That's the evidence.

RE: Death?
How does the fact we are driven to it make it a 'purpose'?

What makes you think it has to have a purpose in order for it to happen?

RE: Death?
It just 'does' happen. It doesn't have a purpose.. it is our purpose... naturally.

It's a major motivational factor in human behaviour. It's what drives us. Motivates us. Makes us what we become. It's one hell of a purpose.

You interpret it as a purpose. But other than a subjectively interpreted purpose, how is it a purpose?

The fact we reproduce and survive as a species... how does that= a purpose? If you think it does, then that's your subjective belief that it's a 'purpose'... how is it actually a purpose beyond that? How is it objective?

Because drive, motivation, producer = purpose?

Our purpose is to provide a safe haven for tapeworms.

If you want to know what it will be like after death, think about what it was like before you were born.

In your opinion?

You think that gives us a purpose. Others who also think it thinks it does too... but that's an individual subjective definition of 'purpose' you see. For instance: There are many people who thinks that is not our purpose, me for instance. Thereby invalidating your claim that procreating is the purpose of humanity, unless you can substantiate it. I know of no evidence for that. I only know evidence for the fact that we all have our own subjective 'purposes'.
