Questions for Atheists

RE: Questions for Atheists
I swear I have already answered those exact same questions in the past, when someone else with a school project needed answers.

RE: Questions for Atheists
What is the origin of the universe and man? ----> dunno, no one told me

What is the purpose of mankind? ----> to fuck and shit and eat and fart, then squirt out babies and do it all again.

What is satisfaction and how do I obtain it? ----> masturbation

What has gone wrong with the world? (Why is there evil in the world - Why do bad things happen to good people)---> evil is caused by stupidity. kill the dumb ones and u fix all.

What is the solution to the problems we face? (what happens when I fail and how do I make things right) ---> more masturbation will fix all. see above also

What is right and wrong? (is moral truth absolute or relative) ---> as a atheist i dont need morals. i eat babies

Is there a universal moral law? ----> the law of masturbation and pooping

What happens at death? ----> you start to decompose. It really sucks to be honest.

What does atheism do with the person of Jesus? --- we don't do anything w him b/c he already got nailed up on that wood cross a while back.

RE: Questions for Atheists
Meh, I'm going to bite

What is the origin of the universe and man?

Origin of universe: read a cosmology/astrophysics book to find out how the world as we observe it arose from very simple beginnings. Beyond that it is not clear whether the question about the origin of the universe as a whole even makes sense. Origin of man: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_evolution

What is the purpose of mankind?

Loaded question, no purpose

What is satisfaction and how do I obtain it?

find an occupation you like and do it. Find people you like and do them... I mean be friends with them

What has gone wrong with the world? (Why is there evil in the world - Why do bad things happen to good people)

Another loaded question. Evil is a human concept which is not a fundamental property of the world. Natural disasters happen not because of evil. The world is mostly hostile to life because it is not designed for life.

What is the solution to the problems we face? (what happens when I fail and how do I make things right)

Don't know, that question is too general. No simple answer

What is right and wrong? (is moral truth absolute or relative)

No such thing as moral truth. Right and wrong in an ethical sense are a combination of consensus in society and human nature

Is there a universal moral law?

No

What happens at death?

Brain shuts down, the neural network that makes our consciousness, personality and memories disconnects and thus dissolves into meaningless noise, erasing us except for the things we have done in the world and the memories in the people we have lived with.

What does atheism do with the person of Jesus?

What does this question do with the words of english?

Can't help cos not an atheist. However I will say those are absurdly loaded questions.

Through victory, my chains are broken."

RE: Questions for Atheists
Does anyone else find it strange that such loaded questions that are obviously from an apologetic point of view are coming from someone claiming to be an atheist?

I suppose it's not your fault your school gave you terrible questions. Welcome.

That's two questions with radically different answers and your best bet to get a handle on them is to find out what scientists in the relevant fields have to say on the subject.

We determine our own purpose.

The dictionary definition of satisfaction answers both of these questions: fulfillment of one's wishes, expectations, or needs, or the pleasure derived from this.

Why wouldn't bad things happen go good people?

(February 2, 2014 at 5:15 pm)emmawheeler Wrote: What is the solution to the problems we face? (what happens when I fail and how do I make things right)

It's silly to think there could be some sort of one-size-fits-all solution to the myriad of problems people face. The solution to a problem is whatever overcomes that particular problem.

What's good for us as human beings is right, and what's bad for us is wrong. It's not absolute, but it's not entirely subjective either.

It's never right to use living human infants as hockey pucks just for the fun of it.

We stop being alive.

'Atheism' isn't something that does stuff with things. I suppose what a lot of atheists do with the person of Jesus is wonder what all the fuss is about.
