I was just in a debate with a christian

RE: I was just in a debate with a christian
Then there's nothing to worry about. When we get to the afterlife, we realize that god is there and we open that door and we crash the party in heaven. And all of the theists are like "what the fuck, god? We spent all of those years trying so hard to please you and it was that easy to get into heaven the whole time???"

So we toss a sideways glance at god, and he tosses a sideways glance at us, and after a short pause we both burst into hysterical laughter. And god tells the theists "stop acting like a bunch of stuck up dorks and grab a 40 already!!!" And the atheists walk around the room, pointing at each theist and shouting "YOU'RE A BITCH! AND YOU'RE A BITCH! AND YOU'RE A BITCH!"
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Is this some sort of Pascal's wager?

Why should I worry about whatever may happen after I'm dead?
Well... I do worry about that... but not about what will happen to me... I worry about my kids and I hope that by then I'll have grandkids.
Also, as a scientist, I try to provide humanity with a few more tools to advance our understanding.

But you're talking about something else... something of myself that carries on after I'm dead... like my personality, my memories, my knowledge... surely not my body...and that non-corporeal bundle of neurological events will, somehow experience the "full glory of the Lord" and somehow end up worshiping said lord, am I right?
And you've come across this information because someone has indeed been in that state and then managed to communicate with someone, while in that state (I'd imagine the physical body of this person to have rotted away by the time "it" could communicate with some the physical world)... am I right?

And this has happened enough independent times to discount false testimony, mistaken information, psychological disorders and other problems that may arise, right?

I'd hardly call it "work," because sanctimoniously judging others in an ignorant fashion seems to come effortlessly to GC.

No, he just warns you that you'll be tortured if you don't accept it.

That's not forcing at all.

Only atheists are in any danger of being proved conclusively utterly wrong whereupon they will at the very least feel like a proper mug. Given that danger I'd try not make childish remarks about God/faith.
Come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant.

Are you flaunting the fact that your beliefs are unfalsifiable?

And fuck your god. Is that childish enough for you?

The warning can apply to atheists who get a little too cocky that they know everything and attempt to use ridicule, you will only ridicule yourself eventually when you are demonstrated to be wrong. And you will be.

He's your God as well, not that God belongs to anyone it's the other way around.
Come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant.

Meh. Petulant threats don't get anywhere with me.

But I suppose if you had evidence, you'd use that instead.

A warning isn't a threat. You don't don't actually know God or a higher power doesn't exist and it's you who will get to find out if they're wrong not the other way.

What would count as evidence?
