The JWs use the words of Paul in Colossians 3:5, though they mangle it to read something like "deaden your members in regards to" lustful thoughts. There is no clear rule or law against masturbation in the Bible as far as I can recall. But an organization that wants to control sexual freedom would have to act against it, otherwise it's a pretty big loophole.

I mean, even when I was a repressed teenager and was cleaning the pipes 5 times a day it still wasn't noticeably cutting into the time I spent "doing good for others", nor did it interfere with my ability to be spiritual. The reverse in fact, I found it much easier to focus on the holy spirit in church if my dick wasn't competing for my attention. These days, when I feel the need far less often in barely makes a dent in my time.

The act of masturbation is not in the Bible; however, I find it incredulous to think that pulling out and spilling seed is bad (Genesis story of Onan), but hosing down the town on your own is perfectly acceptable. Christian prudes love to say that this is just a story to show an act of rebellion and really has nothing to do with sexual activity.

Wasn't the actual 'sin of Onan' avoidance of giving his brother's widow an heir? In other words, the problem wasn't masturbation, it was birth control in a situation where the law required him to at least make a good faith attempt to sire a child.

What would have been cool is if you could have whipped out the Bible verse that supports masturbation being against the will of God. Asking him to prove that the Bible doesn't support it just makes me think you don't know of anything in the Bible that says otherwise.

Every time you do you will boast your animal/carnal nature and diminish spiritual and blissful nature that's all that really happens. The same goes if you gorge yourself on food get drunk take drugs or indulge yourself in whatever.

If you're a mess on the inside you will be a mess on the outside as well. The inner reality can define the outer reality. An addiction to various physical pleasures can cause this of course.
