Now that I think about it, it seems to me only right that we debate that one thing, that one misgiving that you feel is your biggest objection to Jesus Christ.

Whatever it is, if we can debate it and talk about it like civil, respectful human beings and I can give you thoughtful, sincere, respectful answers, then I will have done what was right.

It shouldn't be difficult for the two of you to agree on a topic of discussion that isn't about one person's unverifiable, subjective claims. You, discipulus, believe the Bible to be the word of your god and historically reliable. Either your reasons are sufficient to persuade others or they aren't. I'd say it says a lot about the general level of education of the people about their own inner brain operation and on how easily it can be fooled... and, as all such fooling... it (the brain) is seldom aware that it is being fooled and accepts the event/operation as reliable.

It is my opinion that humanity's early extraordinary experiences fall under such brain trickery and subsequent misunderstanding of these experiences.
As more and more people accept such misunderstanding, it becomes normal and people gather around that idea.
Some people dress it up as a very appealing idea and a religion is born.

From this arises the word many of us usually use to describe believers: delusional.

These words were spoken in a parable given by Jesus to them that asked for signs.

I do not claim to know the hearts and minds of any here. God knows. The continual request for evidence reminds me of those who kept asking Jesus for evidence when He was here on earth. People were asking for evidence even after they saw sign after sign. Miracle after miracle.

The man arises, alive and well.

What would you do then?

If after reading the last sentence I typed, you immediately in your mind begin thinking of other possible "naturalistic" explanations for this event then you should ask yourself......

Why?

Why am I trying to explain it away? Why am I not accepting that it could only be because Christ has power over death?

Why am I so dead-set against miracles happening?

You can't bring yourself to realize that your "change" was all in your mind, through the trick of the impression of some foreign agent which, in this case, you have attributed to christ, the deity most represented in your environment/habitat, no doubt.

I find it fascinating that you (and many others like you) can see the process spelled out (even if roughly like I did) in front of you and not realize that you may indeed be the victim of that process.
You flat out deny it by claiming that you "know" that it is not a possibility.

Bring Einstein back!

Bring Sagan back!
Bring my grandfather back.
Bring Mozart back!

And then, we'd gather under lab conditions with several corpses and study how you're doing it!
