I'm going to read everything you write with a bad Irish accent from now on.
Fixed that for you.

The skill with which I do the accent is dependent on which Father Ted character Mr. Moncrieff most sounds like. I'm most inclined to read him as Father Jack, though my Mrs. Doyle is pretty good, too.

My entire Southern Baptist/Catholic family knows, it's been... somewhat difficult at times, but I feel much better about being honest and standing up for my beliefs.

Eh. It's not that big of a deal to tell your parents that you're an atheist, when you realize that they have been it for longer than you have
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

My parents know, they don't care much. My dad never went to church with us when I was younger, my dads whole side of the family never went to church and from that I understood at a young age there were more sides to the story. I told my mom at a young age that I didn't believe, it didn't make sense to me, she then signed me up for an extra year of CCD. I told her I was an Atheist though a couple years ago, she doesn't seem to really have a problem with it. My grandpa on my moms side is really religious, I have a pretty good relationship with him, as long as he doesn't ask I wont tell.

Well, they know, but I wasn't the one that told them. I accidentally posted something online about atheism under my real name. Well, my nosy aunt was looking up my name on the internet and found it. She told my parents. (We don't talk anymore because she's a Jesus freak.) My parents didn't freak out, but they weren't happy with it. My mom still thinks it's a "phase", and it's been about 10 years since they found out. LOL Oh, well.
