Ever Feel Guilty?
|
I don't consider myself important enough to think me solely responsible for another's pleasure or pain. People will believe what they're ready to believe. I may be a catalyst, but the chemical reaction is way beyond my doing.

Quote:Indoctrinating someone is not that situation. Sometimes I wonder if I have really lost that evangelical edge the Christians instilled in me because I feel it is almost my duty to myself and mankind to do everything I can to plant the seeds that may lead to a person's indoctrination. Ugh. "Indoctrinating" and "indoctrination" are not the words I meant to use. They should be substituted with "deconverting" and "deconversion."

I feel guilty all the time. Though not always for religious reasons.
Guilt is so far my favorite emotion. Its my drive towards the path of righteousness, and has saved me from myself on various occasions. I often feel guilt before I even do the said thing that might evoke guilt, so I don't have to feel it later. Though I guess I'm just thinking too much about things. God, its so hard, living. I kinda wish a life of a soldier, for doing something just because you're ordered to evokes no guilt in me. When I'm ordered to do something I might not agree with, and do it anyways, no guilt is upon me, as the responsibility lies with someone else. But taking initiative, that's the hard thing. That is the source of guilt. Responsibility. The guiltless people are often those with no real responsibilities. So meh. Üze Tengri basmasar, asra Yir telinmeser, Türük bodun ilingin törüngin kim artatı udaçı erti?
I have a conscience that is insistently pricked by a high standard of intrinsic principles afforded to me by my parents and my personal journey through life.
I am regularly motivated by guilt. Or more aptly, by the compulsion to please others and not disappoint them. RE: Ever Feel Guilty?
