One final attempt to try and get through to you guys

But he is NOT at all abusive to me because of that.

Maybe he should have waited until you were a little older before telling you about it, though.

You should look at the evidence and come to your own conclusion, and by that I mean you have to discard your predisposition to think Christianity is true.

I don't have the mental capacity to research it myself. I have a mental illness that makes even some small things very overwhelming to me, yet alone something as massive as if there's a God or are my parents and everyone I know totally wrong about this.

Why not just revisit this when you're older and independent from your parents, then? The issue will still be here when you're 25, and your brain will still be developing until then anyway. That's the point when your judgement really improves (usually) over when you were younger. Involvement in crime tends to drop dramatically at that age, for instance.

JesusLover, I think if you take away one thing from this exchange it should be this: Your parents tell you god exists but not to look into yourself, but the heathen atheists aren't telling what you should think. We've been advocating you to look for yourself.

Ask yourself why the atheists are the ones advocating honest inquiry.

Bingo.

Hell, read the quote in my signature, down below. I'm not a Buddhist (at least I don't believe the supernatural aspects of it), but some of the philosophy really resonates with me. That line is really one of them.

They believe in the trinity
They believe Jesus was born of a virgin and is was a true God, true man.
They believe the Bible entirely to be the Word of God.
They believe in salvation through Jesus' blood.
They believe in sanctification by the blood Jesus' blood.
They believe in water baptism.
They believe in holy communion.
They believe in baptism of the Holy Spirit, as proven by speaking in tounges.
They believe in devine healing through Jesus.
They believe Jesus will return.
They believe in the bodily ressurection of believers to Heaven to have eternal life.

To the person asking if I had any other disorders, non diagnosed, but I definantly show some signs of ADD (but it might just be part of the OCD). My mom and dad are amazing, they would do anything for me, and I feel awful for somehow portraying them poorly to you guys. I just wanted to tell you guys what I've been told about God.

Honestly kid, it doesn't matter what we think of your parents, as long as you love them and they you. But, I have a strong suspicion that your parents, as very pious christians, are inadvertently doing you a big disservice. They think that they are doing the "good Christian" thing, by sheltering you from anything that might contradict what they say. (Ask any parent here, they are willing to go extraordinary lengths just to keep their babies safe.) But in doing so, they lie to you. They don't understand it, but from an outsider's point of view, it's utter and complete brainwashing. ADD and OCD are not an indicator for leaving the bible be, it doesn't make you weaker, automatically stupider or mean that you don't have the mental capacity to think for yourself.

As for telling us about god, you don't need to bother. Many here have been religious (me included, I was Christian until about six years ago) and the rest were fortunate enough never to having to go down that road. As for all the believing, wouldn't you rather know?
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Just another thing they are wrong about.

Muslims worship Allah, which is just another name for the same god you worship.

They believe Jesus was another prophet, not a god.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

That's great. What do you think?

How would your parents know that?

I'll just repeat myself. You should be careful with giving out (indirectly) private information to strangers on the internet. If I am correct, I now know your parent's names, what they look like, etc. Not so cool
